MANAGER OF MARKETING COMMUNICATIONS

Position Summary:

The Manager of Marketing Communications plays a critical role in supporting and implementing the strategies, tactics and processes developed by the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) and the Director, Strategic Marketing & Communications, to strengthen The Conference Board (TCB) brand.

Reporting Relationship:

Reports to the Director, Strategic Marketing & Communications.

Principal Direct Activities:

  1. Design, plan and implement marketing communications programs to support strategies developed by the CMO and Director, Strategic Marketing & Communications.
  2. Work with external vendors — as necessary and appropriate — to develop new tools, processes and procedures to make TCB a more efficient organization.
  3. Manage the most critical aspects of TCB Brand Central, a major element of the revised intranet (see item 7).
  4. Work across the organization with the various business units to embed new processes and procedures designed to accelerate time-to-market, increase efficiency and reduce the costs associated with TCB products and services.
  5. Manage, track and recommend resource allocations on multiple projects to ensure adequate marketing support for TCB business units.
  6. Track/analyze service quality and satisfaction levels of the marketing function with internal customers.
  7. Work collaboratively with the Public & Media Relations, Publishing, Design and IT teams to develop and publish high-profile internal communications including the TCB Insider newsletter and a completely revised TCB Intranet.
  8. Participate in programs and activities designed to extend the reach of TCB internal communications to contractors and consultants such as Conference and Council Program Directors.

Requirements:

A master's degree in marketing or communications is desirable, but not required. Excellent copywriting skills for internal and external communications, including the ability to write for the web (both inter- and intra-net). Excellent project management skills with the ability to effectively coordinate and manage multiple projects at once. Outstanding interpersonal communications skills and experience working across departments and with different teams of people to achieve project goals and objectives. Experience working with graphic designers in the development of communications materials. Fluency in Word, PowerPoint and Excel, proficiency in html highly desirable, but not required. Five years experience in a corporate or other communications function with a robust portfolio.
